Juan ponce de Leon was born in Santervas, Spain-1460. His career before he was an explorer he was a young soldier.

Spain financed the trip for Juan ponce de Leon.

Leon wanted to be wealthy and he hoped to go to this "fountain of youth" he heard it could make you look young so he wanted to see if it was true.

In 1521 Juan ponce de Leon sailed from Puerto Rico and he found Florida.

Juan ponce de Leon led European expedition for gold, which eventually brought him to the southeast coast of what you would call now the United States.

Juan ponce de Leon later found gold while exploring the new world which impacted Spain.
