THE HIMALAYAS AND MOUNT EVEREST

The Himalayas are the home of the highest point in the world, the top of , Mount Everest. Although it's very beautiful it's a dangerous climb. Once you reach 18,000 feet vegation is impossible to find. There are plenty of animals near the bottom of the large mountain range. Some of the animals include wolves, langur monkeys, red pandas, snow leopards, and deer. The Himalayas are also the source of multiple rivers. The names of these rivers are the Indus, Yangtze, and the Ganga-Brahmaputra. The Himalayas are also fairly new and one of the youngest mountain ranges in the world!

PLATEAU OF TIBET "ROOF OF THE WORLD"

The rivers located on the plateau of Tibet provides water for more than half of Asia. There are also 37,000+ glaciers! The plateau of Tibet is 12,000 feet above sea level and its total area is 2.4+ miles. Finally the plateau of Tibet typically get around 18 inches of precipitation.

THE TAKLIMAKAN DESERT

The taklimakan desert's total area is 123,550 miles (WHOA!!!)! It's 3 to 4 thousand feet above sea level. It gets about 1.5 inches of rain every year. There's also two large mountain ranges flanking he desert. The names of these mountain ranges are the Tien Shan and the Kunlun Mountains. There's also the lop nur lake basin in the east!

THE GOBI DESERT

The gobi desert may be very barren but it has some wonderful features. There are 45 different species of animals there (that's really surprising)! It's 500,000 square miles and it's expanding 1,300 miles a year ( like the Sahara in Africa ). Overall I think the best part of this desert is that the first dinosaur eggs to be found were found there.

NORTH CHINA PLAIN

The north China plain is very green and beautiful (as seen in the picture above) and it's area is 135,000 square miles. In 1949 projects for flood control and irrigation were built. It's also the major soybean growing area in China. Wheat, cotton, sesame seeds, peanuts, and tobacco are also raisend there. Finally the north China plain is also very rich in natural reacourses and one of the most beautiful places on this list.

THE YELLOW RIVER (HAUANG HE RIVER)

The Yellow river is the mother of China. It's also themuddiest river in the world and its 3,398 miles long. It's located in China and runs through 9 provinces. It's also known the "River of Sorrow" and the most dangerous river in the world because its floods killed millions and destroy fields and plains.

THE YANGZI RIVER

The Yangzi river claims the title of the longest river in China. It's 3,917 miles long and very, very, blue. Its name means long river.
