The Battle of Java Sea was fought between American- British-Dutch-Australian (ABDA) and Japanese navies on February 27, 1942. The Battle of the Java Sea was fought in the Dutch East Indies. Ended on Ferbruary 27,1942.

Japan, America, Australia, Dutch, and Britain were involved.

One key person of the Battle is Karel Doorman.

2,300 men including the ABDA commander Karel Doorman without loosing a single ship.

The purpose was to stop the Japanese from invading the Dutch-East-Indies. 

Japan humiliated the ABDA forces and sunk 3 destroyers and 2 cruisers.
