VARSITY WINS 44-9 IN HOME OPENER:

The Varsity team kick started their season 1-0 with a 44-9 win over the Marathon Red Raiders on parents night. The night started off fast with a quick score on a 55 yard run from senior Carter Samples. After a 6 play 11 yard Marathon drive and a quick 3 and out from the Mosinee offense, Marathon was able to put together an 11 play 64 yard TD drive.

Mosinee was quick to respond with a long drive of their own capped off by a 27 yard pass from Trey Fitzgerald to Loukas Trzcinski. The Fitzgerald/Trzcinski combination would connect two more times throughout the night with TD throws/catches from 2 and 31 yards. Loukas finished the nights with 100 yards receiving on 7 catches.

Rounding off the scoring for the Indians was sophomore William Kennedy who ran in two scores from 39 and 32 yards, both in the 4th quarter. Michal Dul went 4-4 on extra points on the night.

The defensive unit was led by Wyatt Beyerl with 8 tackles (1 interception), Michal Dul (7 tackles), Loukas Trzcinski (7 tackles), and Grant Lindell (5 tackles).

Final Score!

Mosinee's next Varsity game will be at Onalaska on Friday, August 24th at 7:00pm.
