Greenbrier Junior High's Journal February 11, 2020

"Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're right." -Henry Ford-
Greenbrier Junior High School has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as a school where students demonstrated high growth on the ACT Aspire. The OEP creates an annual report entitled the Outstanding Educational Performance Awards where they recognize schools with high student academic growth. GJHS received the following awards: Statewide High Overall Growth: High School Level, Statewide High Math Growth: High School Level, High Overall Growth: High School Level (Central Region), and High Math Growth: High School Level (Central Region). We are so proud of our students, teachers, and staff for this great accomplishment!!

Congratulations to our Junior High Quiz Bowl team!!! Under the direction of Coach Mrs. Jevicky, they went undefeated to win 1st place in the State Tournament on Saturday! Team members are Markie Hales, Trevor Hall, Conner Morrison, Grace Allen, Emma Jane Robertson, Taryn Wells, Samantha Brookman, Morgan McEntire, Ryan Vann, Evan Harrell, and Max Hooten. Markie Hales qualified for the All Star team at both the Regional and State tournaments.

Students in Mr. Driskill's Robotics class were programming and testing their coding knowledge on individual microBits!!
We cheered our Panthers on with a jersey day for our Greenbrier/ Vilonia basketball pep rally.
Students in Mrs. Gibson and Mrs. Jevicky's Algebra classes worked in teams on angle relationships and Algebra scavenger hunt task cards.
We are so excited our GJHS students had the opportunity to listen and visit with author and Greenbrier alumni Chase Turner this morning in the Fine Arts building.
