Dusk Music Festival came back to Rillito Park for a two-day music celebration that many residents of Tucson flock to each year, with an additional crowd of concert lovers coming in from out of town.

Dusk Music Festival was founded in 2016 in Tucson by Steve Stratigouleas, John Rallis, Page Repp and Pete Turner. The festival's second year of events was held on Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7. The organizers set up a great show and I enjoyed a fun night of musical and artistic expression.

Upon arriving at Dusk, I was greeted with smoke machines and bright, flashing lights with loud music. I was shown to a couch with an accompanying smoke machine and fake cacti. Many attendees were taking pictures with the couch and the giant "DUSK" sign that was displayed behind them.

Many concert goers enjoyed the festival during the day, but the main acts of both Friday and Saturday were Big Sean and Steve Aoki who performed at 9:20 p.m.

Seeing Big Sean, one of my favorite artists, perform on stage about 50 feet in front of me was a euphoric experience.
He played some of my favorite songs and the first night came to a close with the crowd screaming "Encore!", as he played two additional songs, one being a brand new release.

The second and final night had Steve Aoki as the headliner. The famous D.J. played a bunch of remixes to popular songs and energized the crowd. The audience was jumping up and down and vibing with the music.

He then proceeded to spray champagne into the audience along with throwing a cake into my friend’s face, which was a great end to the second night and to the 2017 Dusk Music Festival.
