Pastors' News

It's halfway through the year and I'm sure the journey was an adventure full of ups and downs - that's life. Some days you are thriving while other days you operate on the surviving mode. However, allow me to renew your strength and spirit through God's eye. In Mark 4:35 Jesus says, "Let's cross over to the other side" - Not only Jesus sets the destination for his disciples but more importantly, He journey's with them through the refining moments of identity and purpose which sets them ready and equipped for what awaited on the other side. You see, what you go through God will turn into something beautiful ready for your next move and steps in life. I pray that you invite God to be part of your journey as you continue to reach your destination. But remember to be present, enjoy and trust the current journey with God.

Multicultural Day - Thursday 4th July, 2019

Hallo, Hej, Aloha, Talofa!

It is the final week of term and that means Multicultural Day is here!

Students are to come to school in cultural dress; be it their own culture, a culture represented by their class or one of significance to them. This is not a casual, free-dress day - if students don't come in cultural dress school uniform must be worn.

If you are contributing your time or goods, the following information is important to note for the day:

• Goods/foods need to be delivered to the relevant classroom, not office, before school to ensure that staff can set up their rooms for the day

• Please ensure all foods provided are vegetarian

• If foods contain known allergens, please provide an ingredients list with your dish

• Due to group sizes, parents will not be able to travel around with their child for the day, however, they are welcome to watch the morning program (8:50 - 9:20) and the afternoon program (2:10 - 2:40).

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

CSSA Gymnastics Competition - Thursday 6th June, 2019

The CSSA Gymnastics Competition was a great opportunity for me to compete and improve on my weaknesses. I was accompanied by 4 friends that go to gymnastics with me there, so I wasn't alone. I started on vault, my vault wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. Next apparatus was bars, I did pretty well even though I didn't have one of the requirements as I placed 3rd. The beam was next. It's the hardest and the most nerve-racking for me. The last was the floor, the most enjoyable and my favourite one. I placed 2nd, which I was pretty happy with. I thought the CSSA Gymnastics competition was a fun day and allowed me to improve on my routines.

CSSA was loads of fun. It’s always great to see so many gymnasts that go to Christian schools like me. There are always so many opportunities to make friends because every one is so friendly and understanding. I will definitely be going next year, and the years after that.

WAS Mountain Bike Race - Sunday 30th June

On Sunday June 30th the first WAS mountain bike race of the year took place at the "Old Man's Valley" trail network in Hornsby. The race involved riders completing four descending sections of trail, each run being timed separately. The riders two fastest times were then combined for a total race time. Racing was tight with times on stage two, "Lava Flow", being separated by 1 second. It is great to see the continued development of our young riders fitness and bike skills. Thank you to Mike Farkas and Jayden King for assisting with timing and photography, and all the parents who attended and assisted on the day. There will be more mountain bike social rides and events in semester two, please contact Mr. Starrett for more information.

  • 1st - Andy R (3mins 24 secs)
  • 2nd - Caleb K (3mins 37 secs)
  • 3rd - Ethan T (3mins 49 secs)
