Aśoka The Emperor of Ancient IndIa

Asoka was born in 304 BCE and died 232 BCE. Asoka was from the Maurya Dynasty and he Ruled from 268-232 BC.


He gained his power through struggle to where his brother was slain.

He built over 8,000 temples and made over 1,000 tombs for the dead.

He was one of the first great leaders to truly embrace Buddhism.

He was anxious to spread his ways, so he set up many embassies Across his kingdom

He believed in freedom of religion and worship

Through his rule a more humane style of government was promoted in the later generations to come.

His council was made up of many who were also Buddhist

Maurya empire in which Asoka ruled.
