Slobodan Milošević was a Yugoslav and Serbia but before he was also the president of Serbia.
Political conflicts during in early 1990s was a major reason also a period of political crisis in the 1980s, constituent republics of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia split apart, but the unsolved issues caused Yugoslav wars.
