Wetherby athletic 1 v 4 Field AFC West Yorkshire Premier League

It was another tough game for Wetherby Athletic as they welcomed Field AFC to The Ings

For a change, Wetherby took an early lead, when Jack McGahan headed home Josh Wilson's first minute cross.

Wetherby came under increasing pressure as Field looked to find the equaliser, but they still managed to spring several counter attacks that nearly ended in a goal.

A very dubious penalty hauled the visitors back on level terms just before half-time.

The second half saw play swing back and forth with both defences producing some great last minute tackles.

With Wetherby tiring, Field scored with a good header inside the area before wrapping the game up with a well timed run, springing Wetherby's offside trap.

With minutes remaining, Wilson rounded the keeper, but a great covering tackle took the ball away from him at the vital moment.

So another game that ends in defeat for Wetherby - when you are at the bottom, you have no luck at all!

However, we go again next week against Oxenhope recreation.
