3rd Grade Newsletter February 2017

This Tuesday, February 14, we will be celebrating Oregon's 158th birthday and Valentine's Day! Students are invited to bring in samples of a food item that is produced in Oregon (blueberries, jam, mustard, cheese, jerky...) to share with the class.

Students should also bring in their Valentine cards and their homemade Valentine boxes. We are excited to see all your amazing ideas.

Up until now your child has been "LEARNING TO READ". We are growing into strong readers and with that comes the shift to "READING TO LEARN". We are starting two new units that will help us strengthen these skills.

Iditarod Dog Race

Getting to know our friends in Uganda

Math Focus

Fractions, Multiplication, Division, and 2 Step Story Problems.

We have been creating an online Memory Book. Students can work on these at home by logging into their Google account. (Lunch number@pendletonsd.org) then do a Google search for "Google Classroom". It will be the first link. Here are the entries to date.

The 100th day of school will be March 14th. I am hopeful that we will all come in our very best outfits, looking sharp. Curlers, glasses, robes, purses, suspenders... I can't wait to see all my OLD friends.
