Pop art is a movement where artists create art using the topics like advertising, celebrities, and movi s. It appeared in the early 1950s in Britain and also in the late 1950s in the U.S.
The purpose of pop art was to clear the boundaries between high and low culture. It was created to be a subversion between fine and classic art. Pop Art is so popular because it makes it easier for people to express themselves and make modern and artistic pieces of art.
4 artist: Andy Worhal, Roy Leitchenstein, James Rosenquiest, and Claes Oldenburg.
Pop art use materials like rubber, polyester, and acrylic.
I chose this movement because I loved the fun colors used in the paintings. They used very many abstract colors and techniques which made the art pop. I liked that they used celebrity's and figure I knew who they were.
Pop art painted many celebrity's and important figures like Marlyne Monroe and other figures.
