Wet Fall Afternoon at Lake of the Woods

Fall is quickly drawing to a close as we had yet another wet weekend. Though it was overcast and light rain drizzled much of the day, I had to get out of the house for a little while this afternoon. The oak trees are finally beginning to display different tones of yellow, orange, red and brown. The wet trees trunks seemed full of texture and damp leaves seemed to pop with color on this overcast grey day. While the compositions are nothing spectacular, I have come to appreciate the colors of the forest preserve that is only a mile or so down the road. The walk in the woods was just what I needed today to relax and enjoy the beauty and uniqueness of some of the oak trees there. All of these photos were shot with my Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mk II with the Olympus 12-100 Pro lens.
