Participation Trophies by: Kendra Jones

A team has to stick together while also being individually driven to win the gold.

Participation trophies should not be given to those who are not determined to be excellent even at a young age.

The youth in this picture show grit to get to the ball first because none of them want a reward that everyone gets, but a first place trophy instead.

The gold medal is awarded to those who work hard, just like the boys in the picture. If these youth ran without a great reward for doing well, it would not be fair to them if they crossed the finish line first, while each runner behind them got a trophy in the end as well.

Teaching youth to strive for excellence at a young age will prepare them for the future.
