Franklin students and parents visited the Figge Art Museum to check out Franklin Elementary student art work as part of the 2018 YOUNG ARTISTS at the FIGGE Exhibit.

Grant Elementary hosted a "Lead and Learn Night" on Thursday night. Families came together to learn about curriculum and using the 8 Habits at home. Families learned songs connected to the 8 Habits, wrote family mission statements, played math and family synergy games, learned about 6-Minute Solutions, sat together for a yummy meal of baked potato bar, plus more! Students shined through their leadership roles, helping with many of the sessions, working in the dining room, and helping families find each session. We had a great time!

This week, students in Grant’s Leadership Lab learned about yummy snacks that contained protein and our coding engineers built structures to hold the weight of a book.

Students in Mrs. Paul's 4th grade class are proud of their weavings on display in the hall.

Jefferson first grade students collaborated outside at recess to build Frosty!

Twenty-two Jefferson students were recognized for having art displayed at the Figge Art Museum as part of the 2018 YOUNG ARTISTS at the FIGGE Exhibit.

There's SNOW better place to be than at Jefferson's first STEAM Club meeting! This week, second through fifth grade students were challenged to create a prototype of a snowflake that would fall to the ground the fastest. Students then worked in teams to select, redesign and revise their prototype to enter in the final competition. Next week we will learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics by building simple machines.

Madison Elementary kicked off March Madness with a special guest reader from the Musser Public Library. We are so excited to read all of the Iowa Children's Choice books!

Madison 1st graders in Ms. Holder's art classes learned their warm and cool colors. They painted hearts to get ready to celebrate Valentine's day!

Kindergarteners in Mrs. Evans' class practiced math and greeted friends during their Morning Meeting. They also worked in groups during sight word practice and drew a sunny picture. Kindergarten rocks!

Emma Yerington demonstrates how students and staff can use the new water fountain with bottle fill station here at CMS!! This water fountain was secured through a grant funded through Delta Dental. In addition to the fountain, water bottles and toothbrushes for all students and staff was received.

Congratulations to the West Middle School National Geographic Bee 2018 Champion Kealy Nienhaus!

Economics students participated in a Mad Money Simulation sponsored by Members Community Credit Union. Real life budgeting experience.

Students in Ms. Ruesch's Essential Biology class created edible DNA molecules out of licorice and marshmallows.

MHS staff participated in team building activities as part of their Teacher Quality Inservice Day on Monday. Nine teams of teachers competed in various activities. Each activity was given a point value and teams documented their activity completion with photos or videos. The winning team of Alex Paulus, Rachel Fallon, Staci Orr and Alison Anson, Team IC, was the only team to take the plunge waist deep in the MHS pool for 100 pts!

Team IC took the plunge and came out on top! Great job ladies!
