Volunteers Needed

Earth Day Waterway Clean Up and Squadron Promotion - at Deerfield Island & Sullivan Park Saturday, April 21st from 8:30am- Noon

Please Join fellow members and friends in keeping our area clean for others to enjoy our wonderful waterway. Pompano Beach Sail & Power Squadron needs your help to participate for a few hours. Walk or Paddle around the Island to help remove any litter and celebrate Earth Day in style, saving the planet!

Volunteers and event sponsors PBPS, Dixie Divers, Island Water Sports, and What's SUP will meet at Sullivan Park (Hillsboro Blvd and Drawbridge). Those who wish to participate on the water can either bring their own watercraft or rent a kayak or paddleboard (PBPS have a few free to us). For those who prefer to remain on land, there will be opportunities to remove debris from the shoreline and assist with event logistics such as registration.

Please Send me a email if you would like to participate for a couple of hours this Saturday Morning. We need VSC examiners to perform VSC checks on the kayak, canoes, and powerboats for the Broward County Parks Boats and Individuals wanting their vessel examined. Volunteers to be at our tent and hand out information about the squadron and our activites. If you like to paddle or walk around the island to pick up litter that is great too. We have a few free kayaks for member use and they have a great kayak launch at park
