Honors the great American songbook while exhibiting the multi-cultural breadth of modern collectives such as Lake Street Dive, Our Native Daughters, and Carolina Chocolate Drops. Recent performances include ISIS Music Hall, Asheville NC, Historic Earle Theater, Charles & Myrtle's Coffeehouse, Crimson Moon, Pocahontas Opera House.

The Scooches are led by Betina Hershey, voice/guitar and Nick Russo, banjo/guitar/stomp box with a regular line-up Scooches featuring musicians who've played with Paul Simon, Wynton Marsalis, Jon Batiste, and more.

Betina Hershey, renown veteran of song and stage, vocalist, songwriter, guitarist and dancer, has danced and sung across the country and the world in numerous Broadway shows, Disney's Enchanted and Mona Lisa Smile with Julia Roberts, and had her own musicals, published at Beat By Beat Press, performed in over 2,500 productions in over 35 countries.

Nick Russo, a maestro of strings, leads the charge as bandleader and composer on the banjo, resonator, and guitar. He's is a much sought after NYC musician who’s played with many of today’s greatest including Sir Paul McCartney, performed privately for celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, appeared nation-wide ABC’s “Good Morning America" and in the Sam Mendes film “Away We Go.
