RS GENOVA 2021

Academic Vision

Dear potential applicant,

It is my utmost pleasure to welcome you to Genova 2021 - Regional Session of EYP Italy. With uncertainty surrounding us, it is more important than ever that the youth remains resilient, and that we find ways to empower one another. As the session President, I am truly honored to be a part of an event that will undoubtedly serve as a platform to exchange ideas and learn from everyone around us, no matter their role at the session.

EYP is one of the few organisations whose workings and processes never cease to evolve and inspire those within them. At the same time, there’s a lot of room to make the way academics within EYP more innovative and engaging - both for the session participants and the communities they come from. That is exactly my vision for the Chairsteam of RS Genova: to explore academics from a fresh perspective by bringing participants closer to the real-world processes of EU policy-making. As such, I am looking for Vice-Presidents that will seek not to reinvent the wheel, but to approach academics with an open mind, and add their own vision and ideas to the academic output of the session. Regarding the Chairsteam, with Genova’s theme being ‘Rethinking the future of Europe: Connections for a more sustainable global trade’, we will have the opportunity to explore topics that directly concern the local community of Genova. We are therefore looking for Chairpersons that are ready to take initiative, think creatively and use everything we have learned the past year to reimagine the elements of what promises to be a tremendously rewarding session. Regardless of experience levels, the leadership of Genova 2021 firmly believes that everyone can be a source of knowledge, and we can’t wait to learn from each and every one of you.

We cannot wait to read your applications, and hopefully, see you in Genova!

Media Vision

Dear potential applicant,

I want to start by extending my thank you for considering applying for the Genova Regional Selection Conference 2021. I cannot wait for you to join and help shape the vision into an unforgettable learning experience for everyone involved. I cannot wait to work alongside you at the session under the theme of “Rethinking the future of Europe: Connections for a more sustainable global trade".

At the session, I want to emphasise personal wellbeing and the positive development of team dynamics, while also having strong session output, based around the session theme of integration as well as my own vision of personal development. I want to encourage the Media Team Members to collaborate on projects; I believe that this will forge meaningful bonds within the team and will positively contribute to the learning experience as I believe that there is nothing more effective than learning from each other. Moreover, I am looking for an Editorial Assistant who would share the same aspirations and help foster the development of the team regardless of their prior experience. I want to work in a flat structure in which the editorial team is there to provide a strong backbone to the team as well as create an environment in which knowledge sharing is highly encouraged. Given the return of physical sessions, I would also like the MTM’s at the session to not limit themselves to traditional media, yet take the skills learnt in the last eighteen months and implement them into the “traditional” EYP media we know and love. I would also like to fulfill the needs of media team members by helping fulfill their personal goals at the session whether this be skill-based or otherwise. Therefore I am looking for Media Team Members to share the same enthusiasm and initiative towards the session, regardless of previous experience in EYP Media.

I cannot wait to see your applications and hopefully see you in Genova in 2021!
