1. Welcome to Brinker Farms, Inc. and Harrison Creek Farms in Auxvasse, Mo. The Brinker family was featured in the PORK cover story in June
2. Brinker Farms, Inc. encompasses 4,200 acres of all no-till cropland. It also includes Central Missouri Meat and Sausage, the Barnyard Smokehouse Restaurant and part ownership of Triumph Foods.
3. The hog operation, called Harrison Creek Farms, is a 2,800-sow wean-to-finish operation. The farm markets 84,000 pigs/year.
4. Kenny Brinker’s daughter, Amanda Seute, is a landscape designer. She has used her expertise to landscape around the Brinker’s home and barns.
5. The Brinkers were recognized for their environmental stewardship efforts in 2006, when they received the pork industry’s prestigious Environmental Stewardship award.
6. This windmill and three small grain bins were the only structures on the land when Kenny and his wife, Susan, moved to the farm in 1998.
7. Brinker is in the top 10% of the nation’s pork operations with 31 pigs produced per sow per year. He credits his farm staff led by Shane Sorrell for the excellent track record.
8. In addition to 2,800 sows, Brinker has 3,700 of the 42,000 wean-to-finish spaces. The rest of the pigs are fed out by 12 growers located in central Missouri.
