Greenbrier Junior High School has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as a school where students demonstrated high growth on the ACT Aspire. The OEP creates an annual report entitled the Outstanding Educational Performance Awards where they recognize schools with high student academic growth. GJHS received the following awards: Statewide High Overall Growth: High School Level, Statewide High Math Growth: High School Level, High Overall Growth: High School Level (Central Region), and High Math Growth: High School Level (Central Region). We are so proud of our students, teachers, and staff for this great accomplishment!!

GJHS Student Stories

GJHS is so proud of Laine!! After cheering during the basketball game, she saw trash in the stands, grabbed a trash can, and started cleaning up! Thank you Laine for doing the right thing even when you thought no one was looking. We appreciate your heart of service and integrity!!
Students in Mrs. Gilbow's Biology class have been learning about the structure and function of DNA and RNA. This week they conducted a lab to extract the DNA from a banana.
Students in Coach Edmondson's Physical Science class worked in groups to create and answer questions based on the three ACT Aspire Science categories (interpretation of data, scientific investigation, and evaluation of models).
To acknowledge and show our appreciation for our teacher's hard work, GJHS teachers received a Panther tumbler with their One Word written on it. At the beginning of the year each of our teachers decided on One Word that would represent their personal goal for the school year.
GJHS teachers met back Monday for a Curriculum Planning day preparing to welcome our students back to a new semester full of teaching and learning!
