At the Nicholas School, we believe lasting environmental change depends on embracing and encouraging the rich diversity of talent, perspectives and experiences brought to our field by faculty, staff, students and alumni from all backgrounds.

Students and staff shared their experiences, as well as how the Nicholas School supports diversity, equity and inclusion in our community through student groups, events and engagement in both the Durham and Beaufort areas in a panel discussion.

Alumni Perspectives: The Duke Experience & Beyond

Nicholas School alumni, more than 5,000 strong, are a diverse group representing many backgrounds, degrees, career paths, places, ages and experiences.

What they all have in common is their deep commitment to environmental stewardship and the extraordinary environmental education that set them on a path to professional and personal success. Five alums lent their wisdom as part of a panel discussion.
