Parent Teacher Conferences -- Schedule NOW!

Session 1: Wednesday, 5:00 - 8:00 pm

Session 2: Thursday, 12:30 - 3:30 pm

Conference Manager is now scheduling sessions for next week's conference sessions. Please click on the link below to set up an account and schedule times with your student's teachers.

Please be aware that not all teachers are available at all 3 conference sessions since some teach at multiple school buildings or have prior conflicts.

Washington D.C. Parent Meeting

The 8th Grade trip to Washington D.C. is less than 3 weeks away! Those with students traveling should plan to come to the Parent Meeting on Wednesday, October 25 at 7 pm in the LMS cafeteria, where Mrs. Lee will share final details and travel tips. Athens Drive 4UR School

The Athens High School - FORD DRIVE 4UR SCHOOL event will take place on Friday, October 20, 2017. The Athens PTO is proud to partner with Elder Ford to sponsor this event from 8:30AM - 8:00PM at Athens High School, 4333 John R., Troy, MI 48085. Each test driver earns the school $20! Plan to stop by if you are able to support this worthy cause!

Building/Site Sinking Fund Information

In a little over a month, you will be asked to decide an important issue in the November election. The Troy School District is asking voters to consider a 1 mill Building and Site Sinking Fund. This fund would be created at NO INCREASE TO YOUR CURRENT TAX RATE and would allow us to make necessary repairs and refurbishments to Larson and the rest of our schools. If you have questions about this proposal, there is lots of information and a FAQ link on the TSD website (link below). But the most important thing to do right now is to make sure you are registered to vote! The last day to register is Tuesday, October 10th. For more information, click on the link below.

HELP WANTED--- The Troy School District Special Education Department, contracted through PESG, is looking for compassionate individuals who would like to work with our special needs students in a school setting, providing assistance in classrooms and other school settings including implementation of behavior management strategies. Work Year, Hours & Compensation: $12.80 per hour, 6.5 hours per day, school days only A Health Care Aide’s job functions include: • Working with students who require one-to-one attention and supervision • Recognize the importance of fostering the independence of the student • Provide the necessary support to ensure the health and safety of the student • Duties will take place in programs for students with cognitive impairments and/or autism • Represent the District and PESG in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level • Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in positive, supportive, and cooperative ways • Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations with the contracted position For additional information, or to apply, please click the link below.

Box Tops for Education!

Welcome back everyone, especially to the incoming 6th graders and new families! While stocking up on school supplies and snacks for the kids, keep an eye out for those Box Tops for Education. They're everywhere and worth a lot to our school. Send in your unexpired, neatly trimmed Box Tops with your student anytime. They can drop it in the collection box located just inside the Media Center. I'll give periodic reminders and announcements about bonus opportunities.
