1st Period - 8:14 - 9:01 Child Development
Child Development is a class that studies children, and begins with pregnancy, labor and delivery and then studies the mental, physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child from birth through elementary age. Students will learn skills in effective parenting, teaching, and nurturing of children.
2nd Period - 9:05 - 9:50 PHS
Principles of Human Services is a course that will enable students to investigate careers in the Human Services Career Cluster, including counseling and mental health, early childhood development, family and community, personal care, and consumer services.
3rd Period - 9:54 - 10:39 Interior Design
Students will study how to make interior spaces functional, safe, and beautiful by determining space requirements and selecting decorative items, such as colors, lighting, and materials.
4th Period - 11:15 - 12:00 Discovering Careers
Discovering Careers is designed to introduce students to the skills they will need to succeed in school, on the job, and on their own. By studying this text, students will be able to explore personal goals, interests, and aptitudes that will influence future life decisions.
5th Period - 12:04 - 12:49 Intro to Culinary
Introduction to Culinary Arts will emphasize the principles of planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling the management of a variety of food service operations. ... Introduction to Culinary Arts will provide insight into food production skills, various levels of industry management, and hospitality skills.
6th Period - 1:23 - 2:10 Child Guidance and FCS
Child Guidance is a technical laboratory course that addresses the knowledge and skills related to child growth and guidance equipping students to develop positive relationships with children and effective caregiver skills. Students use these skills to promote the well-being and healthy development of children, strengthen a culturally diverse society, and pursue careers related to the care, guidance, and education of children, including those with special needs. Instruction may be delivered through school-based laboratory training or through work-based delivery arrangements such as cooperative education, mentoring, and job shadowing.
Family and Community Services is a laboratory-based course designed to involve students in realistic and meaningful community-based activities through direct service or service-learning experiences. Students are provided opportunities to interact with and provide services to individuals, families, and the community through community or volunteer services. Emphasis is placed on developing and enhancing organizational and leadership skills and characteristics. These students work directly with teachers to assist in any way that they can in the classroom.
7th Period - 2:14 - 2:59 Conference
Planning, prep time, and staying in touch with parents.
8th Period 3:03 - 3:50 Yearbook
This course is designed to develop students’ skills in yearbook production by providing experiences in selected aspects of the production. Students learn basic principals of yearbook production and develop skills that include writing copy, captions and headlines; digital photography; desktop publishing and using appropriate technology tools for media production.
We are looking forward to an exciting year here at Sudan I.S.D. and following our Sudan Hornets PK - 12. Please assist us by sending us pictures of your students activities, as we cannot be in every location. We will use what we can.

Mrs. Robertson's Classroom Rules
General Rules - A detention will be given for any rules that are broken
- Students must come to class prepared. (Homework, pen, paper, and spirals for journaling)
- Students must be on time to class
- Students must come to class prepared
- Students must show respect to teachers and classmates at all times.
- Students must meet the dress code guidelines set forth by Sudan ISD.
- No cell phones, smart watches, headphones or backpacks will be allowed in my classroom suite. These items are to be kept in your students lockers. If students have their phone, smart watch, or headphones these items will be picked up and turned into the office even if not in use. It is against the rules for them to have them in my room. A detention will be given for breaking the rule and a fee of $15.00 will be charged by the office.
Classwork and homework Policy
- Classwork- Your student is assigned assignments on Google Classroom every Monday. These assignments are due at the end of the week or an alternate date given. If they miss school during the week the assignment is still due on Friday. If I assign something while they are gone they can access it on google classroom and it will be due on the same date as everyone else. I do not allow students to make up 0’s. They have plenty of time to get their assignments done.
- Homework - I seldom give homework unless your student is behind on their classroom assignments. Do not expect this on a daily basis.
Service Project
- Every semester the students will be required to complete a service project. This project will count as two daily grades. The student will need to choose a project and have it approved by me. The student will have a form that must be filled out by the recipient of the service rendered and signed by both the parent and student. This service project cannot be a paid position, cannot be for a family member, cannot be rendered to a fellow classmate, cannot be done during school hours and cannot do the same project each semester.

I will keep grades up on a daily / weekly basis, however, grades are subject to change due to late work being turned in or extra credit given.
FCS School Supply List
Supplies must be in by Monday the second week of school. These items will be left in my classroom.
- Paper/Pen/Red Pen/Pencil and Markers
- Spiral Notebook for journaling.
- 1 Jar of Hand Sanitizer and or Clorox Wipes
- 1 Large Box of Kleenex
- Doodle pad if the student would like to doodle during lecture. This can be used if your student is paying attention while doodling. (Optional)

About Me
I graduated from ENMU in 2011 and began my teaching career in Lazbuddie in 2012. Although I enjoyed my time in Lazbuddie and loved my job there, I began teaching in my dream position, at my dream school, here in Sudan, in 2014. I am loving teaching and having the time of my life. I am right where God has called me to be.
I am married to an amazing man, father, and teacher. I married Jonathan Robertson in 1983. We have 3 beautiful children Ashley Binnicker, John Robertson, and Whitney Meeks. We have been blessed with a great daughter in law and and two fine son in law's Tina, Jason, Dustin. We have seven beautiful and amazing grandchildren that changed our lives forever. Dane, Shiloh, Ethan, Beckett, Sage, Collin. and Maggie Ann. Mimi and Tater have enjoyed our time as grandparents.
