How is warfare depicted in moves?
Warfare in movies is usually very carefully shown. Most movies I have seen are extremely sensitive when it comes to war. Most modern day movies treat war like it's hell, which I'm sure it is.
Why am I interested in warfare through movies?
I am interested in warfare through movies because I am curious of the importance of making movies about the various conflicts we as a people have endured. I find that most movies about war eventually come into the idea of hope. That hope is an integral part of our lives, and we might not even realize it until we are in the darkest parts of our, or someone else's in the form of movies, life.
The Average Individual
What impacts does one individual have on the world at large? How about around those closest to them?
I think it's interesting about the impact a single person has on the world around them. The President of the United States will change history throughout the four years they are in power. However, what will the average Joe really change?
What does film has to do with this concept?
I love the movies Cast Away and Forrest Gump. They both take fairly average men through vastly different lives. In Cast Away, we learn that life continues no matter what happens, even if you might not be a part of it. That being said, Forrest Gump plays an important part in the second half of the twentieth century in the world at large.
What's Out There?
Why do I love science fiction?
Science fiction is the question of "What if?". That is all there is to it. I love the idea of humans as a species advancing to colonize and explore new worlds.
How has science fiction changed the way we look at the universe?
That's the question I'm looking to get answered.
