Shakespeare was born on April 23 1564 (Wells Pg.1) and would become the greatest European writer in history. He was born in Stafford-on-Avon to John Shakespeare who was a wool maker and was in politics.

Stratford-on-Avon is important because first off it was the birth place of Shakespeare second it was a huge city full of cultural diversity (Tim lambert Pg.1)

When Shakespeare was alive he worked with The Lord Chamberlains Men and The Kings men which were acting companies (Wells, Pg.12). Also when he was alive he wrote one of the worlds greatest love/tragedy stories ever Called Romeo and Juliet. This is believed to have been written in 1595 (Asimov Pg.1). Strangely in all of Shakespeare play including Romeo and Juliet (which is based on a love story between a guy and girl) he never had a female actress.

Shakespeare would die at just 52. What is weird about his death is that he died on his birthday in his home town.
