Thunder Road Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen talks about a girl named Mary in his song Thunder Road. In the first stanza he explains Mary's dress waves in the wind on the front porch.

The screen door slams, Mary's dress waves. Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays.

Mary is dancing around in her dress while the radio is playing.

Roy Orbison is singing a sad song and that makes him think about how he only wants Mary for himself, he does not want to be alone again.

Don't run back inside, darling, you know just what i'm here for. So you're scared and you're thinking that maybe we aint that young anymore. Show a little faith, there's magic in the night.

He is telling her that they are teens anymore but trust in him, there is definitely a connection between them.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright. Oh, and that's alright with me.

Mary is not that beautiful to the world but she is beautiful to him, and that is all that matters.

You can hide 'neath your covers and study your pain. Make crosses from your lovers, throw roses in the rain. Waste your summer praying in vain.

Basically you can do all of these things to avoid the pain that a person for someone

He was saved from the bad
