Gwenyth Deiter CAS Highlights

Gwenyth is from Lansing Michigan, and majors in Arts & Entertainment Management with minors in Marketing and Entertainment Design & Technology. While she has many fond EMU moments, her favorite so far was working on Much Ado About Nothing for EMU Theatre as an Assistant Stage Manager. “I learned a lot about the theatre program, made friendships, and was able to utilize what I had learned from my Arts Management degree within the theatre realm”

Last year Gwenyth joined the Symposium Undergraduate Research Fellow program and had the opportunity to research accessibility in the arts, with a focus on theatrical performances alongside Dr. Elena SV Flys. “I have also had numerous opportunities in the theatre department! From working in the theatre office, to stage managing some incredible productions, and learning new, valuable life skills that will help me in my life beyond Eastern! The EMU faculty has been nothing but fantastic! I am constantly motivated and moved by their passion for their field, and their willingness to help students succeed. I have received nothing but support for pursuing whatever interests me and have made incredible connections along the way.”

When asked what advice she could offer fellow students Gwenyth had this to say, “Never be afraid to reach out to faculty if you have questions or are looking to become more involved. There are so many fantastic programs available for students to become involved in, and the sky is the limit! Not only are you entering a fantastic academic program but also one filled with caring, friendly students, and staff that will always be here to help you along your journey at Eastern!”
