Neurotransmitters are contained within the synaptic vesicle

A neuron sends a signal by first gaining an action potential, which depolarizes the pre synaptic membrane. It then open voltage-gated channels. Then synaptic vesicles fuse with the presynaptic membrane. Lastly, the neurotransmitters bind to ligandgated ion channels
