WWI Trench Warfare BY: Harlie youtz

If you were to be in a trench the four things that I would bring would be a lot of socks because when you are in those trenches with wet feet all the time your foot could feel numb and swell ("Trench Foot"). Another thing that would be good to bring would be a gas mask. "Early gas masks were crude as would be expected as no-one had though"("Gas masks"). Another thing to bring is a shovel. "There were two main ways to dig a trench. There was entrenchment, which was the faster method, allowing many soldiers equipped with shovels and picks to dig a large portion of trench at once"("Trench Construction"). Another thong i would bring is a steel helmet to help with protection. It also could help with artillery("Steel helmet").
