CoWork Oasis and the El Paso Public Library recently completed “Book It & Launch El Paso,” an entrepreneurial-focused initiative that delivered free informative workshops from industry professionals at local libraries throughout the community.
The initiative started by training a majority of library staff in the subject of regional entrepreneurship. The main goal for "Library Staff" was to increase knowledge in entrepreneurship and technology. By implementing a “train the trainer” model, library staff will be able to better serve individuals looking for startup information and support.

Innoventure students sold at the Downtown Artist and Farmers Market August 25th and 30th. The final products ranged from Slime, Art, Marshmallow Shooters, Painted Rocks, Magnet Art, Catapults and Origami, Organic Soap, Leather Jewelry, Wrought Iron Art, Coasters, and Stuffed Animals.
Four of the students sold out of their items. Each student made at least $20 and some made up to $75.
100% of those surveyed would recommend Innoventure to other parents.
Students showed an 80% increase in understanding entrepreneurial concepts.

CoWork Oasis Accelerates Farmers Market
On August 21, CoWork Oasis and Digital Empire hosted a free workshop for active vendors from the El Paso Art and Farmers Market. The workshop was tailored to accelerate startup growth by providing technology and social media solutions allowing for a better way to find more customers online. Attendees learned about sales funnels, channeling and targeting customers online. Total there was 20 vendors in attendance. Thank you MCAD for the partnership.
On August 14, 2018, Alice Loy from Creative Startups visited the CoWork Oasis to host a focus group among creatives. Creatives representing multimedia, traditional artists, and digital designers came out to support the cause.
The group shared insightful information to assist Creative Startups with a regional grant application.

Success Through Technology Education (STTE) Foundation is having the Inaugural Education Awards on November 8, 2018 at the El Paso Wyndham Resort.
STTE is recognizing the achievements of education partners for their outstanding work preparing our region’s future. Attendees will celebrate eight award recipients, hear two student success stories and be inspired by our first-ever keynote speaker, Miriam Rivera from Ulu Ventures.
In July, CoWork Oasis and STTE Foundation attended the Kauffman EShip Summit. ESHIP is a convening of leaders from across the United States seeking to support entrepreneurs, build ecosystems and change our economy.
The summit connects entrepreneurial ecosystem builders working to empower the makers, the doers and the dreamers of our society.
Attendees worked together to design their local ecosystems using new approaches and best practices. Small teams discussed and designed actionable solutions around some of the biggest issues and opportunities facing entrepreneurs and ecosystem builders.
CoWork Oasis, NMSU Arrowhead and the Technology Hub of Juarez partnered to host Techstars Startup Weekend. Techstars is the worldwide network that helps entrepreneurs succeed.
In just 54 hours, teams experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that make up life at a startup. There were ten finalist teams that competed with over 80 participants.
This year, Startup Weekend allowed a high school team from STEAMx Business Challenge who ultimately won first place. Brown Bag, is a mobile app that would allow families to make and sell their own healthy food via an app. The app would geo fence communities to avoid saturation of sellers in neighborhoods.

This year STTE Foundation is partnering with Techstars to bring the first-ever high school accelerateing durning Global Entrepreneurship Week in November. CoWork Oasis is also in discussion with Techstars to offer the first-ever NAFTA Themed Startup Weekend between, Canada, U.S. and Mexico. Stay tuned for more updates.
