My animal is a seal, seals are mammals. Did you know seals live in the Arctic, Ocean. Seals are black and very easy to identify. They are around 6 feet long and weigh up to 300 pounds. Did you know seals don’t have arms they have claws for scratching threw ice and are family members to bears, dogs and weasels.

Seals are carnivores which means they only eat meat. This is some things adult harbor seals eat molluscs, fish and squid. Did you know seals can eat 10 pounds a day but some days they can eat nothing. Did you know killer whale eat harp seal, harbor seal and ringed seal.

They also need cold and the ocean to live because that's where they get most there food. Did you know seals live in a wide range of habitats in the Northern and Southern hemispheres, depending on their species.

Did you know younger seals have a warm layer of water- repellent fur, which they have till the seals grow a fat layer. Seals can hold their breath up to 2 hours. Seals are very strong and flexible and that makes them be able to surf and navigate ice and rocky shores.

Some of seals enemies are great white shark, polar bears, orca and killer whales. Seals can also be threatened by some land animals. Did you know with seals blubber it would have to be a strong animal to kill a seal.

Did you know harp seals true name is Phoca groenandica, meaning ‘’the Greenland seal’’ but there family name is Phocidale. Also adult harp seals shed their skin every year and then grow it back. Did you know an adult harp seal can go at the speed of 15 mph (24 kph). Did you know harp seals nearly live about 30 to 35 years.
