Global Expeditions 2018

Global Expeditions 2018

Your passport to learning

At Whitsunday Anglican School we are very proud to be able to offer a range of Global Learning experiences to our community that take the classroom into the world. The life-skills participants develop through leadership, cultural, language and service experiences cannot be gained sitting behind a desk. They are gathered by travelling as a member of a team, whilst exploring new cultures. We are pleased to offer the following Global Expeditions in 2018:

France | Vanuatu | Tanzania

France (Language Immersion)

When: 21 June - 16 July

Where: Paris and Montpellier

Cost: $5,800 approx

Who: Year 9 - 12 students in 2018, Staff & Parents

On arrival in Paris, we will travel to Montpellier, a university town in the South of France where students will be in Homestay (in pairs) and parents will stay in a hotel with Whitsunday staff members.

The students will have French lessons in the morning for 5 days in a ‘Language School’ with teachers catering to their levels (beginner, intermediate). After lunch (catered by the school) we will travel to various landmarks near Montpellier (Montpellier Mini Train Tour, Pont du Gard, Cassis – sea cruise, Arles Arenas, Saint Guilhem le desert village…). After our week in the South of France, we will catch the High Speed train to Paris for the remainder of our stay where we will stay at a Youth Hostel specialised in catering for language study tours from abroad (FIAP). In Paris we will visit the Eiffel tower, the Louvre Museum, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Arch of Triumph with the Champs Elysees Street, Versailles Palace and we will enjoy a cruise on the River Seine.

This will be the trip of a lifetime for our students and parents. France’s weather is beautiful in summer and our expedition coincides with the last week of school (and Sales) and the first week of the French summer holidays.
