Foundations of Management & Entrepreneurship (FME)

All Babson freshmen take FME, a course where you create and build an ACTUAL BUSINESS and sell REAL products/services. It is one of the most unique pieces of the Babson experience, and it gives students tangible, real world experience of what it takes to run a business and all the ups and downs that come with it. Students develop a business idea, pitch their idea to the class in "Rocket pitch" format, perform market research, create a business plan, and receive real $$$ funding from Babson College to turn their group's business idea into reality. Then while running their business, under the guidance of their professors, students learn to deal with the hardships of working in teams, making decisions, pivoting, and learn to find ways to succeed. At the end of the year, all profits are donated to a charity of choice.
