“It was overdue. He's a fine big horse but he's just very immature and he'll be a fine three-year-old. He loved that ground but he's just looking around and being very green with Colin there in the first part of the race. When the penny drops and he fills into his frame, it's all about next year with him. At the start of the race he wasn't helping him but he actually helped him at the end. He has plenty of ability" - Shane Lyons
RP ANALYSIS: Probably no more than Fight Zone deserved after creditable efforts in defeat. Fight Zone broke away well to lead and needed a reminder in the early stages to keep straight as he tended to lean to his right. To his credit, he did this the hard way, and when he had company over a furlong out he stuck his head down and battled. He'd been running well in maidens prior to this and was probably undone by the soft ground at Gowran Park latest. There should be more to come from him in time.

Next raceday - Sunday, 18th October
