Welcome Back, Islanders! Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

Fall 2020 is almost here! Check out this guide for information on student services designed to make your first week back to school a great one!

CLASSES Start August 19

The fall 2020 semester starts Wednesday, August 19. Still need to register or make changes to your schedule? The deadline for online registration via SAIL is Tuesday, August 18. Students can continue to add or late-register for classes in-person at the Student Services Center (better known as the Round Building) through Wednesday, August 26. For more information, please see our academic calendar.

Tuition for the fall 2020 semester was due Tuesday, August 11, by 5 p.m. Students receiving financial aid will have their awards automatically applied to their account, with leftover monies refunded to them.

If you register on or after the due date, payment is due upon registration. Those who fail to make a payment or payment arrangements by the deadline will be assessed a late payment fee and may be dropped from their classes, so we encourage all students to make necessary arrangements as soon as possible to avoid penalties.

Islander Students - Don't forget to complete a brief COVID-19 training course

The Texas A&M University System requires every student and employee to complete a brief COVID-19 training course before being allowed to return to campus for the fall semester. The deadline to complete the training is August 21, 2020.

The student training program provides a greater understanding of:

  • the types of infectious diseases that can be spread in the workplace.
  • how to properly clean and disinfect surfaces.
  • the steps for proper handwashing.
  • respiratory etiquette that helps to mitigate the spread of infectious diseases.

NOTE: To comply with CDC guidance, TAMU-CC requires face coverings for everyone on campus.

The training is located in the following Blackboard courses:

Be sure to login to Blackboard, go through the entire course, and complete the acknowledgment step at the end to comply with the System requirement.

Islander Safe, Islander Strong

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will be open in Fall 2020 under guidance from Governor Abbott, the CDC, and The Texas A&M University System. In developing a course of action, the health and safety of our Islander Community continues to be our highest priority. Please visit our Fall 2020: Plans for Campus site to learn more about safety policies that have been implemented at the Island University.

Waves of Welcome

Each fall semester, the Texas A&M Corpus Christi community welcomes new and returning students to campus.

During Waves of Welcome, students transition to life on the island by attending university events sponsored by student organizations, campus departments, and academic colleges. Students learn Islander traditions, make friendships and connections, explore campus and community resources, and show their Island Spirit.

This year, events will be held both in person and online. Check the WOW event schedule for ways to get involved.

Welcome back, Islanders - we're so glad you're here!
