Live Bottomless Presents

A new footwear collection inspired by Mexico's vibrant Día de Muertos celebration.

Who We Are?

Catrinas Huaraches will serve as a brand extension to Bottomless, focused on artisanal footwear from Mexico. Catrinas will amplify our commitment to offering products made by artisans around the world.

Each purchase helps provide sustainable income to remote artisans.

Our Purpose

Through Catrinas, Bottomless will promote artisans craftsmanship to a global audience with the long term objective to help elevate the craft of Huaraches by selling only the finest examples. Increasing exposure and demand for high quality Huarache design to encourage highly skilled artisans to continue refining their craft and grow their business, hiring employees and passing down their Huarache making knowledge to future generations.

How Are We Fair Trade?

We buy directly from Huarache artisans all year-round. Currently we work with 2 collective groups of craftsmen in Sahuayo, Michoacan. Although Michoacan is a beautiful state with picturesque sights, lively traditions and the best carnitas you will ever devour, unfortunately it is tainted with drug cartel violence in poverty stricken regions. Our efforts to promote craftsmanship to a global audience and creating demand for Huaraches will not only generate recurring income to artisans, but also provide new job opportunities to locals. Sustainable jobs may then allow workers to take their family on holiday, pay for better education, health insurance, pension funds and work 5 instead of 7 days a week.

What is the Day of the Dead?

Sure, the theme is death, but diving deeper Día de Muertos is a celebration of the lives of the deceased. Day of the Dead festivities unfold over two days in an explosion of color and life-affirming joy. In towns and cities throughout Mexico, revelers don funky makeup and costumes, hold parades and parties, sing and dance, and make offerings to lost loved ones.

Catrinas will enhance the Live Bottomless lifestyle & encompass all of Mexico's vibrant festivities. From the tequila agave fields, exotic cuisine of Oaxaca, spring break haven of Cancun, to the taco aficionados that range from Baja to the streets this side of the border.
