FOOD DRIVE HAPPENING NOW
It’s that time of year to celebrate Carmel Elementary’s oldest tradition... the Canned Food Drive!
For the past couple years CE has shattered previous school food drive records! We’re hoping to do it again this year! Our goal is for every student and staff member to bring in at least 10 items. This would get us close to 6,000 items. Last year we donated 8,663 items, which totaled over 6,400 pounds.
More than numbers, however, we care a lot about the quality of our donations. We’d love to see family-friendly options from all food groups lining the hallways. Some of the best suggestions include:
- Meals in a can or box such as chili, stew, or soup
- Canned meats like chicken, beef, or tun
- Peanut butter and jelly (plastic containers)
- Easy Mac
- Chips and Salsa (plastic)
- Pancake mix and syrup
- Cereals and granola bars
- Cracker boxes
- Instant rice or potatoes
- Snack sized foods like applesauce, peaches, or pudding
*Please send foods in original packages! Do not take items out of boxes in order for our numbers to be higher (popcorn or granola bars, for example)!
THANK YOU in advance for your kind support and food donations! The food will be donated to the Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank, feel free to like them on Facebook!
If you have any questions you may contact Kristen Nilo at firstname.lastname@example.org.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REMINDERS
"Show Us Your Selfie" Art Show
Our very special all-school art show happens next week! Every student will have framed artwork available to view and purchase.
We need volunteers to make this event run smoothly. From running check out lines to helping with craft stations, there's something for everyone! Middle school and high school siblings are welcome to pitch in.
All School Bingo - Donations Needed!
One of our students and staff's favorite events...All School Bingo...is coming up soon! We really appreciate any and all donations you might provide for this event. Ideas include small toys, art supplies, books, games, pens/pencils, gift cards (for teachers). Send donations to school to the attention of Mrs. Klinginsmith. Thank you!
CES Green Team Needs Your Recyclables
Our Green Team Club members are collecting soda cans to be recycled to earn money for our school. Bring your cans to the bins located at the front entrance or in the teacher’s lounge.
We are also collecting Christmas lights that don’t work anymore. There is a bin outside of the library where families can put them. They'll be taken to a recycling location so they don’t go into the landfill.
Our 3rd and 4th graders put on a great first ever Thanksgiving Parade at Carmel Elementary...it was SO CUTE! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.
DEADLINE: Winter Spirit Wear Ordering Ends TODAY!
Many of our Spirit Wear items will make great gifts for your CE Tiger...or even your middle- or high-school aged kids. Adult sizes are also available. Orders must be placed ONLINE by November 30. Orders will be delivered to school and sent home with your child, unless you indicate it's a gift...then it will be prepared and ready for you to pickup at the school before the holidays. Thanks for your support!
