As in most plays we've read we again see power corrupting those who have attained it and it forces them to do some pretty crazy things. Characters in this play are driven by power and the concept of controlling others, and just like every play we've read these plans will ultimately backfire.
Characters who become affected this:
- Creon: very arrogant person, abuses power and treats people horribly
- Antigone: due to Creon's abuse she ultimately sacrifices her life for what she believes
- Society: under Creon's rule people live in fear of his wrath and so have extremely limited freedom.
