The Rawls Course A west texas masterpiece

Created by: Kersten Criddle

The Rawls Course is the fourth ranked college golf course in the nation, and is the second ranked public course to play in Texas.
Amazing events for amazing causes.

The Rawls Course is more than just green fees and range fees, they host amazing events and tournaments for wonderful causes. The Scottish Rite Golf Clinic is an example of this. Young patients at Scottish Rite come to the clinic, and two of the golf pros instruct driving, chipping, and putting. Every year since Rawls has opened in 2003, Rawls has donated their facility to Scottish Rite for this event. Special Olympics Individual Golf Competition is another event Rawls hosts; individuals with intellectual disabilities compete in driving and putting competitions. Rawls also hosts the Friends of Texas Boys Ranch Tournament, a tournament to raise money for Boys Ranch.

Jerry's Grill, not the typical golf course restaurant.

Not just golfers eat at Jerry's Grill. Every day, people from all across Lubbock form a line at Jerry’s Grill for their lunch break. Visitors can enjoy a tasty meal while enjoying a view that makes them feel as if they are no longer in Lubbock. The restaurant has a variety of entrées a visitor can order ranging from salads, to grilled mahi mahi, to burgers, to fried shrimp. Jerry’s Grill also offers a full breakfast menu including oatmeal, omelets, burritos, and much more.

Rawls Men’s Golf Association & Rawls Ladies Golf Association

The two associations have events and tournaments scheduled throughout the season, and all the money that is made during these events and tournaments is donated to the Men and Women’s Texas Tech Golf Teams. A check is presented to the teams at a Christmas party in December. The money raised throughout the year is split evenly, and presented to each team. This past year they raised $35,000, and every dollar was used. The RMGA and RGLA make it possible for the golf teams to be as successful as they are.
