Shakespeare Project

The main topic of this would be that shakespeare had helped us with many great

Things and helped form the english language. Shakespeare had brought us play and poems

For entertainment.

Shakespeare is also mainly known for his plays and poems no one had really

Known him for some other reason. They did not see Shakespeare as a smart person..

NOTE CARDS

Shakespeare 1

"Shakespeare style has helped shape the language of all English speaking countries"(Shakespeare style)

Shakespeare had helped us and formed the English language he had made English words/speaking into what it is today

My understanding

In my understanding Shakespeare wanted to help influence us with the plays he wrote and shaping the English Language. Most of the influences from Shakespeare was in his writing

What i know

This fits with what I know because I felt that Shakespeare had wanted to write more to influence people on what he was doing. Trying to get more people to do it.

(END)

Shakespeare 2

NEW

Shakespeare wrote two long poems, Venus and Adonis and The rape of Lucerne. both are narrative poems that is, they tell a story.(Shakespeare poems)

TO my understanding

In my understanding this means that both what Shakespeare wrote was poems plays but everything that Shakespeare wrote had meaning. Every little word or sentence he wrote had meaning it had something behind it to show us. Everything he had wrote served a purpose

Fits with what i know

This fits with what I know because Shakespeare tries to show us things in different ways such as poems plays and short stories.

(END)

Shakespeare the third period

NEW

During this period, Shakespeare's language shows remarkable variety and flexibility, moving easily back and forth between verse and prose. The verse shows an increasing tendency to allow sentences to extend past the end of the verse line.

TO my understanding

To my understanding this could have been one of Shakespeare's best periods. Because of what he created. The language that Shakespeare created show variety and flexibility it showed that it could be messed around with.

FIts with what i know

This is fit with what I know because Shakespeare's had done more of the contribution to the English language. Shakespeare had helped mold the English language he saw that you could mess around with it to make more of it.

(END)

SHAKESPEARE the fourth period

The four romances are beautifully constructed, and their poetry ranks among Shakespeare's finest writing. But unlike his masterpieces of the third period, the romances seem detached from reality.

To my understanding

To me this seems as if people only saw what he wrote as if it was something different. But when Shakespeare wrote about romance people did not see it as his finest work. People said that the romance stories had been to detached from reality.

Fits with what i know

All of this fits in with what I know because at time started passing by Shakespeare wanted to give his audiences something different from what he had already written. Some scholars believe he had written romances because of the popularity that the romance plays.

(END)

SHAKESPeare in england

"Shakespeare work reflect the cultural, social, and political conditions of the Elizabethan age". (England of Shakespeare day)

"Knowledge of these conditions can provide greater understanding of Shakespeare's plays and poems".

TO my understanding

This means to me that Shakespeare had to get most of his ideas from something and to change it into writing and plays to show us in a different perspective a different looking glass. Most of his poems and plays had provided people a much more better understanding because he had found a way to make it different and telling everyone through plays and poems.

FITS with what i know

This fits with what I know because Shakespeare had found a way to persuade people with plays and poems so it wouldn't be so boring to persuade people. If it was boring no one would be persuaded they wouldn't want to do anything.

(END)

Shakespeare the years of fame

Few people gave shakespeare the praise that later generations heaped on him. By the late 1590's, Shakespeare not only become an established writer but also had become prosperous.

My Understanding

To my understanding Shakespeare's name had not been known until his writings and play had fully gotten out there to the public. But when Shakespeare's writings came out he than became an established writer.

Fits with what i know

This fits in with what I know because when Shakespeare's writing had become more professional he was more known.

(END)

Publishing history

No Manuscripts of Shakespeare's plays exist. As a result, modern editions of the plays must be based on early published texts. The publishing history of Shakespeare's plays has been a story of constant attempts by editors to correct errors and defiance's in the quartos and folios.

My understanding

To my understanding this means that later on in the generation there was no copies of Shakespeare's actual writing. But later on more and more editors tried fix Shakespeare's writing tried to make it better.

Fits with what i know

This fits with what I know because I believe Shakespeare's writing was already perfect mainly because it had helped us in many ways. HIs writing had a strong impact on all of us.

(END)

THE years of fame

Throughout the 1590's, Shakespeare's reputation continued to grow. From 1594 to 1608, he was fully involved in the London theater world.

My understanding

Shakespeare had reached most of his during the time he had been in London he was one of the most popular playwrights. But his reputation was largely that of a popular playwright, not of a writer unequaled genius.

Fits with what i know

To my Understanding this mean that Shakespeare was mainly known for writing his plays and poems. People had never seen him as a genius most of the popularity he had gained was because of his play's.

(END)

THE first period

The plays of Shakespeare's first period have much in common, though they consist of comedies, histories and a tragedy.

Throughout the second period, Shakespeare steadily developed the matchless gift for characterization that marks the great tragedies he produced in the early 1600's

My understanding

Shakespeare had evolved every little piece of detail he was working on throughout the years. During his Second period he had brought historical drama and romantic comedies. During his second period he had also helped develop Characterization

Fits with what i know

This fits with what I know because Shakespeare had a lot of things to contribute with his writings. He had also came up with different types

(END)

Shakespeare the third period

Shakespeare wrote his great tragedies during the third period of artistic development. Except possibly for Pericles, every play of this period shows Shakespeare's awareness of the tragic side to life.

To my understanding

Throughout each period shakespeare's writing and had developed a lot more. But as shakespeare's writing had changed he had gotten more

Fits with what i know

This fits with what I know because throughout each year Shakespeare had kept getting better and better with his writing.
