The gathering perspective took root in this sculpture trial in the form of a dough/ clay made out of floral cuttings and food waste (flour, vegetable offcuts etc.). I was heavily inspired by house insulation techniques from my father's village. Workers would create a paste out of hay, leaves and mud, then paint it white with gypsum. Wallpaper would be placed on top. This piece emulates those layers of the construction material, creating an ambiguous shape that shines through as an object in between naturally occurring resources and human innovation.

集めるという視点は、この彫刻の試みにおいては、花の切り口や生ゴミ（小麦粉、野菜の切れ端など）で作った生地や粘土の形で定着しています。私は、父の村の家の断熱技術から大きなインスピレーションを受けました。職人さんが干し草や葉っぱ、泥などをペースト状にして 、石膏で白く塗ります。その上に壁紙を貼っていくのです。この作品は、そのような建築資材の層を模したもので、自然に存在する資源と人間のイノベーションの間にある物体として曖昧な形をしています。

With my interest in human - nature relationships, and the communication strategies between them, I decided to conduct an experiment that consisted of approaching a tree with the simple greeting of a handshake. How do you greet a tree with touch? What would be the hand of a tree? Is it proactive to envision a tree in such a human-centric manner? I tried to shake every leaf of the tree in a gesture of acknowledgement - shaking makes new growth stronger - could that be a greeting? This continuation into the discourse around human-nature gestures opens up the discomfort, the compassion, and the confusion of moving forward in acknowledging surroundings through the lens of heavy human perception.

人間と自然の関係、そしてその間のコミュニケーション戦略に興味を持っている私は、握手というシンプルな挨拶で木に近づくという実験を行うことにしました。「触れる（touch)」ことで、どのようにして木に挨拶するのか。木の手とは何だろう？このように人間中心に木をイメージすることは前向きな行為なのだろうか。私は、木の葉の一枚一枚を振って、謝意を表すジェスチャーをしてみました。振ってみると新しい成長がより強くなりますが、これは挨拶なのでしょうか？このように、人間と自然のジェスチャーをめぐる議論を続けることで、人間の重い認識のレンズを通して周囲の環境を認めながら前進することへの違和感、哀れみ、そして困惑が明らかになります。

What relationships do we see in fragmented, collected images? How would they fit within this contrasting digital world? Can we discern the ethics, mental associations, or visual memories that we attach to the bits and pieces that crumble into our daily lives?
