Meaningful May

"You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated" Maya Angelou

As we get closer to the end of the school year, I marvel more at how far we have come. It is a habit of mine to reflect about the moments leading up to the present. On the contrary, for many students at this time of year the focus is pretty simple. Summer. For them, the only thing that stands in the way are tests and celebrations. What I find funny is that what is hyper focused upon in May really is just a microcosm of life. Tests and celebrations. Whether you took a Milestone or not, every day is a test. Our response to the test we face is a choice and hopefully based upon our reaction to the tests, we can celebrate the small wins before we are tested again. Every day counts. No matter the occasion. No matter the rationale. We have to push through the finish line of each day with the same energy and approach as if today was the first day...of anything. I am thankful that I get to have another shot at being better than I was yesterday with each morning that I am allowed to wake up. It is my hope that you are renewed by the opportunity that lies within each day. It is our choice to make every day count. The end result is just a matter of what you choose to focus on.
