-the war lasted 6 years -> final Allied defeat of both Nazi Germany + Japan in 1945

Adolf Hitler was born in Braunau am Inn, Austria, on April 20, 1889

-the Great Depression in Germany provided a political opportunity for Hitler

-leader of the Nazi Party + became Chancellor of Germany in 1933

-he started the Holocaust

People were put in striped pajamas and numbered instead of being called by there name.

Holocaust

-Holocaust = genocide / nazi leader = Hitler

-Mass murder / 6 million European Jews

- Hitler created concentration camps / For killing

-reasoning= jews were an inferior race + threat to purity of Germans.

End Result

1948 = congress passed the Displaced Persons Act.

Displaced Persons Act= 400,000 US immigration visas for displaced persons.

Nazi's caught for what they're doing after death / Hitler -> punishment
