Ontario’s Filip Ullgren tied the game, 3-3, just 19 seconds into the third period, but Fresno scored twice in a span of 1:34 late in the third period and the Monsters won, 5-3, on Thursday.

Manual Mancha (2-1-3) figured in all three Ontario goals. Fresno’s Nicholas Gary stopped 35 of 38 shots in the game, including 17 of 18 in the first period. Andrew Pellegrino’s second goal of the game, with 5:28 left in the third period, was the game-winner for the Monsters.

The Avalanche rebounded for a 6-2 win on Friday. A pair of goals just four seconds apart gave Ontario a 2-0 lead. Filip Stensson and Henrik Lohman cashing in on the rapid-fire strikes only to see Fresno’s Jacob Rudloff get one back for the Monsters less than a minute later. Things calmed down at that point, but Stensson restored Ontario’s two-goal lead late in the first period. Shots on goal were basically even (33-32 Ontario), but Own Liskiewicz stopped 30 of 32 shots to backstop the Avs to the win.

Ontario finished the series off with a 7-2 win on Saturday. The game was tied, 1-1, after the first period, but the Avalanche scored five straight goals in the second to take control of the game. Alex Bouchard (2-1-3) scored twice and Liskiewicz was again sharp for Ontario, making 37 saves on 39 shots, including 20 of 21 in the first period to keep the Avalanche in the game. Cody Key and Jacob Rudloff each had a goal and an assist for the Monsters.
