South African Embassy, Manila visits UP EEEI

Pascual, Mr. Martin Slabber, Ambassador of South Africa to the Philippines, Ms Eudy Mabuza, Ms Tshire Kau, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of South Africa in Manila, and Diwata Project Leader, Prof Joel Marciano.

Last 02 June 2016 (Thursday), a representative of South African Department of Science and Technology (DST) and members of the South African Embassy, Manila visited the UP EEEI to discuss possible collaborations in space science.

South Africa has launched several locally built satellites and is currently working on launching satellites on its own. During this meeting, the UP EEEI and South African DST agreed on having joint researches and projects. Filipino delegates are expected to be sent to South Africa later this year for these projects.

The Waze Story and History

Brought to us by the Embassy of Israel and Ateneo De Manila Graduate School of Business, the Waze Story and History took place last July 19, 2016 (Tuesday) through a teleconference with the co-founder of Waze himself, Dror Cohen.

Cohen's talk revolved on 'How WAZE started a community of drivers and created the world's best navigation app'.

Other schools who participated in this teleconference were the Asian Institute of Management, De La Salle University (Taft and Dasmariñas), Far Eastern University, Philippine Women's University, Mindanao University of Science and Technology, and Technological Institute of the Philippines.

Experience BERKELEY: Life and Research in UCBerkeley

Visitors from UC Berkeley shared their thoughts and experiences to EEEI students last July 21, 2016 (Thursday). Yonathan Mintz started with his presentation on 'Designing Healthcare Programs: A Behavioral Analytics Approach'. Pedro Hespanhol also shared his thoughts on 'Life as an Exchange Student in #UCBerkeley'.
