Just last Saturday we had birding expert Scott Logan in for a visit. The group was enraptured with his depth of knowledge on birds, climate and all the science and beauty in between.
Scott explains the differences between bird feeders and seed and how to attract the most songbirds to your yard.

This beautiful female Lesser Goldfinch popped by and posed as if on queue for Scott's lecture. Goldfinches feed on Nyjer seed and are constant visitors to the yard.

A nesting material holder is continually refilled with fresh Husky fur to help the birds get through the chilly winter. Humming birds and others can be seen pullinng fur multiple times a day.

A hummingbird nest lined with Husky fur hangs from the eaves of the house.

Anyone can create a welcoming haven for local wildlife. Turning your yard, balcony container garden, schoolyard, work landscape, or roadside greenspace into a Certified Wildlife Habitat® is fun, easy, and can make a lasting difference for wildlife.
