It has been an amazing few weeks with the Women In Leadership at Lam Research Corporation (WILL) who committed to building 1,000 backpacks for middle school students around the Bay Area. A total of 20 members of this incredible group safely stuffed backpacks with school supplies from their homes along with the help of those living in their households. It has been a joy to see corporations in our community come together despite today's circumstances to bring hope to children in our neighborhoods as they go back to school.
Whether school happens at home or back in the classroom, students from low-income families struggle every year to afford even the most basic school supplies they need to succeed in school. With help from WILL, we can help 1,000 middle school students be on track to succeed in school with the proper supplies. Their families won't have to worry about affording these essentials during the pandemic and these backpacks will provide a sense of control, security, and most importantly, a sense of normalcy for students during an odd season.
