2 Corinthians 12:9 - "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (NIV)
It's one thing to be stuck between a rock and a hard place.
It's another thing to be stuck - at the end of yourself - and grab onto God's grace.
When we feel weak and at our end, we can often go to one of two places...
1. Try to grit our teeth, be brave, struggle through the weakness, and pretend we don't need help.
2. Give up hope and sink into despair.
God promises that his grace is sufficient - all we need in every moment of weakness. In fact, his power is made complete in our weakness.
Our attempts to strengthen ourselves or put a good face on our weaknesses actually prevents God's power from being made manifest in our lives.
God's power is revealed in our lives when we confess our weakness and our inability to save ourselves.
The truth of this promise can so penetrate our lives that we delight in confessing our weakness. We realize that the power of God is released in our admission of weakness, not in the display of bravado.
Don't run from weakness. Use it as an opportunity to see God's power shine through you.
Trust God's promise. His grace will provide all you need in the midst of your weakness.
