Royal Disaster

A fatal car crash robbed the world of one of the most beloved princesses. Diana, Princess of Wales, 36, left behind two young kids, and a lasting impression on the people of the world.

Who - It is up in the air as to who actually caused the death of the Princess. The Papprizzi forced Henri Paul (the Princess's driver) to take a new route to get Diana, and Dodi Al Fayed (her companion) to Dodi's father's apartment for the night. But, Henri Paul was going 30 mph over in a tunnel, and he was found to be intoxicated.

What- A tragic car crash that took the lives of Princess Diana, Dodi Al Fayed and Henri Paul.

When- August 31, 1997.

Where - Princess Diana ultimately died at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, Paris, France, but the car crash occurred right outside of the Pont de I'Alma tunnel.

Why-There was no intent found in Princess Diana's death. It was a freak accident that happened due to speed and alcohol. It will always be remembered as an extremely shocking event.

This crash had an affect on many people around the world because they could relate to this Princess more than any other. This was an event that was so deeply felt that, to this day, people remember where they were at time of the accident.

The papprizzi was found taking pictures moments after the crash first, instead of helping the suffering people in the car. It was because of this insensitive behavior and the relentless pursuit of Princess Diana's vehicle that led to laws being enacted to protect the lives and private property of celebrities from the papprizzi. But, it still doesn't give the celebrities much privacy out in public.

This is a meaningful event in history, because Princes Diana was a passionate champion for many causes that gave a helping hand to those in need. She had a positive influence, not only on the public, but on her sons lives as well. This can be seen as they continue the charitable work she started. Whenever a popular figure dies at a young age, and leaves behind so much, it is felt around the globe.
