One of the most influential customs in South Asia was the rise of the Buddha and his influence of peace and happiness over his followers.

The caste system in India was also created around the same time period. This created a social structure that separated the extremely wealthy from the extremely poor. The Brahman Caste was known to be one of the highest social caste's in all of India.

The caste system divides Hinduism into 5 social classes based on Karma.

  • Brahmins
  • Kshatriyas
  • Vaishyas
  • Shudras
  • Dalitas
